Framing
Framing refers the division of swaths in frames or scenes, according to several configurable techniques.
It is possible to set the following options:
Division Mode:
- BY ANGLE: An orbit is divided in a number of frames per orbit corresponding to equal angle sections over the orbit. Because the orbit is not perfectly circular the duration of each frame may vary. This method is used by default on most sensors.
- BY TIME: All frames will have exactly the same duration in time. This is used in Radarsat-1 and 2
- PREDEFINED: The frame borders are explicitly declared in a comma separated list of the span seconds since Anx. For example, the sensors of SAOCOM-1A and 1B satellites have been configured with PREDEFINED framing,
Frame Numbering:
- SWATH BASED: Frame numbering starts with each swath independently of other swaths and swath location. This method is used for Radarsat.
- ORBIT BASED: Frame numbering follows an orbit scheme starting with Anx, e.g. like the Landsat WRS.
Floating Frame
It is possible to disable floating frame, and define whether floating framing is aligned to start (typically Radarsat), center or end of the swath.
Frame overlap
Frames can include a certain amount of overlap between adjacent frames, defined by the overlap time
